Today, the cost of a new pipe organ averages around $12,000 per rank.  When your church, temple, or college is spending that amount of money, you want to make sure that it is spent right - on an instrument that not only fits your budget, but meets the needs and style of your facility!

American Pipe Organ Consultants is NOT an organ builder, nor an organ broker... we are organ consultants.   Our purpose is to offer you the best advice and consultation available, based upon our many years of experience!

 American Pipe Organ Consultants, based in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA), is owned by Roger Heather.  Mr. Heather has an extensive organ design background.  He was sales and design representative for the Schantz Pipe Organ Company, in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky sales territory, for 38 years.  He has designed over 50 pipe organs, and collaborated in the stoplists of numerous others.  He is the owner of a three manual, Rogers Digital Organ. 

Mr. Heather is also an experienced organist, having studied organ at the Cincinnati College of Music (now part of the University of Cincinnati).  He served for over 40 years as both organist and choir director, for a number of Greater Cincinnati churches and temples.

If you and your committee do not understand the technicalities and intricacies of organs, it can be well worth the small investment to obtain advice from someone who does.

Mr. Heather charges $50 per hour for the first phone consultation (with a one hour minimum), and $75 per hour thereafter, or for in-person consultation (with a 30 cent per mile mileage charge). Mr. Heather can completely design your organ, based upon your budget and needs.  Flat rate quotes are gladly furnished for this service, but the average for a complete organ design is generally in the $500 price range.
